About

Abel Selaocoe (born 1992 in Sebokeng) is a South African cellist, singer, and composer. He trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and signed with Warner Classics in 2021. His distinctive style blends the classical cello with traditional South African singing, drawing on Xhosa throat-singing traditions. He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and serves as an artistic partner of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. His debut album "Where Is Home (Hae Ke Kae)" was released in 2022.
