Alin Coen (born 1982 in Hamburg) is a German singer-songwriter who grew up bilingual in German and Spanish as the daughter of a German physician and a Mexican artist. While studying at the Bauhaus University in Weimar she met her fellow musicians and founded the Alin Coen Band in 2007. Her music blends folk, singer-songwriter and quiet, poetic textures. Her best-known albums include "Wer bist du?" (2010), "We're Not the Ones We Thought We Were" (2013) and "Nah" (2020). In 2011 the band won the German Music Authors' Prize for emerging artists and represented Thuringia at the Bundesvision Song Contest.
