About
Bloc Party is a British indie rock band formed in London in 1999. The line-up is led by singer and guitarist Kele Okereke alongside lead guitarist Russell Lissack. Their debut album Silent Alarm, released in 2005, was widely praised and is often cited among the strongest records of the 2000s. They went on to release further albums including A Weekend in the City (2007), Intimacy (2008), Four (2012), Hymns (2016) and Alpha Games (2022). Their sound blends indie rock with post-punk and dance-punk influences.
