About

Cœur de Pirate is the stage name of Canadian singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin, born in 1989 in Montréal, Québec. She has played piano since early childhood and began writing her own songs as a teenager, releasing her self-titled debut album in 2008 on the Montréal label Grosse Boîte. Singing mainly in French, she became one of the best-known voices of contemporary Québécois chanson. Her work drew wide critical acclaim and several award nominations, and she has toured internationally.
