Chara Kotsali is a dance maker, performer and teacher based in Greece. She graduated from the Rallou Manou Professional School of Dance, where she now teaches contemporary dance, and also holds a bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies and a master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology. Her choreographic practice draws on methods from anthropology, documentary art and music, and includes writing, field recordings and DIY sound composition. Her solo "to be possessed" (2023) was selected for Aerowaves Twenty24 and for the [8:tension] Young Choreographers' Series at ImPulsTanz, where it received an honorary mention from the jury. Her second work, "borborygmi", premiered at the Athens Epidaurus Festival in 2024 and received an audience award.
