Chorwerk Ruhr is a professional vocal ensemble founded in 1999 in Bochum and counted among Germany's leading chamber choirs. Its repertoire spans from monophonic and polyphonic music of earlier eras to large oratorio works and contemporary compositions. Since November 2011, Florian Helgath has served as its artistic director, linking traditional choral music with present-day works. The choir regularly collaborates with renowned orchestras and appears at major festivals such as the Ruhrtriennale. It operates as part of Kultur Ruhr GmbH, supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ruhr Regional Association.
