Chris Hopkins is a jazz pianist, alto saxophonist and composer born in 1972 in Princeton, New Jersey, to a German mother and an American father. He spent most of his youth in Germany, first trained classically on the harpsichord and discovered jazz as a teenager. His piano playing is rooted in the stride and swing tradition of masters such as Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson and Earl Hines. An internationally touring musician based in Germany, he also performs as part of the acclaimed group Echoes of Swing.
