About

Christoph Kramer, born 19 February 1991 in Solingen, Germany, played for Germany from 2014 to 2016 and won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the national team. His playing career ended at Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2024; since 2018 he has also been a sought-after pundit for ZDF, covering international matches and major tournaments. According to his publisher, he is the first professional footballer to have published a novel: his debut, "Das Leben fing im Sommer an," reached number one on the SPIEGEL bestseller list and is being adapted for film as well as staged in German theatres. His second novel, "Wolkenberührpunkt" (Kiepenheuer & Witsch, 2026), tells of two contrasting lives — a World Cup winner and a young man who never had a home.
