Claire Cunningham is a Scottish performer and choreographer based in Glasgow. She is among the best known disabled artists working internationally from the UK. Her work grows out of the use and deliberate misuse of her crutches, from which she has developed her own movement language, which she calls "Quanimacy". In doing so she consciously rejects dance techniques created for non-disabled bodies. Her pieces include "Give Me a Reason to Live" and the lecture performance "4 Legs Good".
