About
Climax Blues Band is a British blues-rock band formed in Stafford, England, in 1968, originally as The Climax Chicago Blues Band. The founding line-up featured singer and saxophonist Colin Cooper, guitarist Pete Haycock, Derek Holt, Richard Jones, drummer George Newsome and keyboardist Arthur Wood. Their first two albums, "Climax Chicago Blues Band" (1969) and "Plays On" (1969), appeared on Parlophone and were produced by Chris Thomas. The band has released 22 albums; their biggest hit, "Couldn't Get It Right", reached No. 10 in the UK singles chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977, while "I Love You" peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard chart in 1981. The band continues to tour today.
