Converge is an American metalcore and mathcore band formed in 1990 in Salem, Massachusetts. Its long-standing line-up features vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller. Their 2001 album Jane Doe is widely regarded as one of the most influential records in the genre. Known for their intense, chaotic sound and ferocious live performances, the band has been a pioneering force in heavy music for more than three decades.
