Dance Gavin Dance is an American post-hardcore band formed in 2005 in Sacramento, California, blending elements of math rock, experimental and progressive rock. Guitarist Will Swan and drummer Matt Mingus are the only members to appear on every studio album, alongside a lineup that has included Jon Mess (harsh vocals) and Andrew Wells (rhythm guitar and clean vocals). Signed to Rise Records, the band has landed multiple top-twenty albums on the US charts, with Mothership (2016) reaching number 13 on the Billboard 200. Their discography spans numerous studio albums, from Downtown Battle Mountain (2007) to Pantheon (2025).
