About

Darya Dadvar is an Iranian soprano based in Paris. She grew up in an artistic household in Iran – her mother is a singer and director of a marionette theatre – and studied voice at the conservatoire in Toulouse, where she also specialised in Baroque singing. In Tehran she sang the role of Tahmineh in Loris Tjeknavorian's opera "Rostam and Sohrab" with the Armenian Symphony Orchestra under the composer's baton. In her own music she combines traditional Iranian songs with European classical music and elements of Baroque, jazz and blues.
