Deez Nuts are a hardcore band from Melbourne, started in 2007 by JJ Peters after I Killed the Prom Queen, where he had played drums, came to an end. It began as a one-man job: Peters played everything on the debut EP Rep Your Hood. The name, taken by Peters from a Dr. Dre track and the rap slang around it, signals the mix — hardcore punk built on groove, with hip hop worked into both the music and the look. Stay True (2008) was the first album, followed by This One's for You (2010, with Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon guesting), Bout It! (2013), Word Is Bond (2015) and the bleaker Binge & Purgatory (2017). The touring line-up is Peters on vocals, Matt Rogers on guitar and Alex Salinger on drums.
