Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 2002 by keyboardist Martijn Westerholt. Westerholt, previously a member of Within Temptation, relaunched the project in 2005 together with singer Charlotte Wessels. Their debut album Lucidity appeared in 2006 to a positive reception, after which the band began performing live. Delain is counted among the well-known symphonic metal acts from the Netherlands.
