About
Der moderne Man is a German-language band from Hannover that grew out of the punk group The Worst in 1979 and is counted among the Neue Deutsche Welle. Their records appeared mainly on No Fun Records: the EP "Umsturz im Kinderzimmer" (1980) was followed by the albums "80 Tage auf See" (1980) and "Unmodern" (1982). British radio DJ John Peel was among the first broadcasters to play the group. The band split up in 1984 and is now regarded as a cult act of the German underground. Der moderne Man has been performing live again since the 2020s, including at the ABOUT POP festival in Stuttgart.
