About
DeVotchKa is an American multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble formed in Denver, Colorado, in 1997. The band consists of Nick Urata, Tom Hagerman, Jeanie Schroder and Shawn King. Their sound blends indie rock with Eastern European folk, mariachi and gypsy-music influences, played on instruments ranging from theremin and accordion to sousaphone and bouzouki. The group gained wider recognition through the soundtrack to the film Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and the song How It Ends. They continue to tour internationally and have released albums including 100 Lovers (2011) and This Night Falls Forever (2018).
