Field Commander C. is one of the most impressive Leonard Cohen tribute shows in Germany. The project was conceived shortly after Cohen's death in late 2016, taking its name from the live album “Field Commander Cohen: Tour of 1979.” The roughly ten-member band is led by musician and film producer Rolf Ableiter, who authentically recreates Cohen's largely melancholic tonal colours. Their repertoire includes classics such as “Suzanne,” “Sisters of Mercy,” “So Long, Marianne” and “Famous Blue Raincoat.” The band performs two different programmes, one of which focuses on Cohen's early works from the 1960s and 1970s.
