About

Gaby Koof is a Cologne singer who calls her music "Kölsch chanson", deliberately setting it apart from carnival music. She performs chanson classics alongside Kölsch lyrics by well-known writers and her own songs, in French, Spanish, standard German and the Cologne dialect. In her programme "Lieder, die mich tragen" she tells stories from her life, accompanied by Andreas Lasonczyk on piano and Gerd Brenner on double bass. She also devotes a separate tribute programme to Hildegard Knef.
