Girls Under Glass (GUG) is a band founded in Hamburg in 1986 as the successor to the group Calling Dead Red Roses. Its founding members were Thomas Lücke, Hauke Harms and Volker "Zaphor" Zacharias. The band started out as a gothic rock act but soon crossed genre boundaries, combining wave and gothic influences with metal and electronic elements and being commonly classified as darkwave. Long established in the German wave and gothic scene, the group continues to tour German clubs.
