GLU is the solo project of American multi-instrumentalist Michael Shuman, best known as the bassist of Queens of the Stone Age and co-founder of Mini Mansions. Under this name he blends esoteric, dreamlike melodies with moody beats and a dynamic, rhythmic flow. The songs are introspective and personal, moving between alternative pop, hip-hop influences and electronic textures. GLU marks a distinct departure from Shuman's earlier rock-oriented work.
