About

The Herwarth Böhmer Band is an ensemble from Germany's Ruhr region led by singer Herwarth Böhmer, who performs under the stage name "Ervardo". Böhmer has been on stage for more than 25 years and sings both his own material and interpretations of Italian classics with a deep, warm voice. The repertoire draws mainly on the Italian cantautori tradition, including songs by Paolo Conte, Domenico Modugno, Gianmaria Testa, Lucio Dalla, Edoardo Bennato and Renato Carosone. Alongside Böhmer on vocals, saxophone and kazoo, the band features Eric Richards (double bass), Kolja Rötzel (drums), Jan Bierther (guitar) and Jin Urayama (keyboards).
