James Arthur is an English singer and songwriter, born in 1988. He rose to fame in 2012 after winning the ninth series of the British talent show The X Factor. His debut single, a cover of Shontelle's "Impossible", entered the UK Singles Chart at number 1. Having sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, it remains the most successful winner's single in the show's history.
