About
James Blake (born James Blake Litherland, 1988) is an English singer-songwriter and record producer known for his emotive head voice and use of falsetto. He first gained recognition in 2010 with the EPs The Bells Sketch, CMYK and Klavierwerke, before his self-titled debut album (2011) reached the top ten of the UK Albums Chart. He won the Mercury Prize for his second album Overgrown (2013) and has since earned two Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy. Blake has also written and produced for artists including Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Rosalía and Travis Scott. His recent releases include Playing Robots Into Heaven (2023), the collaborative album Bad Cameo with Lil Yachty (2024) and Trying Times (2026).
