Joel Brandenstein (born 26 February 1984 in Ratingen, full name Benjamin Joel Brandenstein) is a German pop singer and songwriter who rose to fame via the internet. From 2011 he posted cover versions of German and English ballads on his YouTube channel, accompanying himself on the piano. In 2014 he released his first original single "Diese Liebe", which reached the German iTunes charts. His 2017 debut album led to his first sold-out tour of Germany. His music is known for its melancholic, romantic pop ballads and his raspy voice.
