About
Jorja Alice Smith (born 11 June 1997) is an English singer and songwriter from Walsall in the West Midlands who has been writing songs since the age of eleven. In 2012 a friend uploaded her cover of Labrinth's Earthquake to YouTube, which led to her being discovered by producer Guy Moot. She signed with Sony/ATV in early 2016 and released two EPs across that year and 2017. Her debut album Lost & Found arrived in 2018 to critical acclaim, peaking at number three on the UK Albums Chart, and the same year she won the Brit Critics' Choice Award. In 2019 she was named Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards and nominated for the Grammy for Best New Artist.
