Lydie Auvray (born February 1956 in Langrune-sur-Mer) is a French accordionist and singer who has lived and worked in Germany for decades. She grew up in Caen in Normandy, took up the accordion at the age of ten and moved to Berlin in 1974. As an accompanist and session musician she has worked with Klaus Hoffmann, Hannes Wader, Stefan Stoppok, Peter Maffay and Reinhard Mey, among others, and in 1982 she founded her own band, the Auvrettes. Her playing is widely credited with driving a popular revival of the accordion in the German-speaking world. Since her debut album "Premiere" (1981) she has released numerous records; she lives in Cologne.
