Marikiscrycrycry is the artistic alias of choreographer and movement director Malik Nashad Sharpe, who works internationally and is based between London and Bangkok. Under this name he builds speculative stage worlds shaped by horror, dark fantasy and the aesthetics of commercial entertainment, pushing the body into states of emotional excess and breakdown. His movement language is hybrid, colliding social and commercial dance styles with contemporary techniques and performance practices. His work has been commissioned and shown across Europe, the UK and North America, and in 2022 he was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree for his contribution to dance in Europe. He is also a guest professor in dance and performance at the Stockholm University of the Arts.
