Mariza (born 1973 in Mozambique and raised in the Mouraria quarter of Lisbon) is one of Portugal's most internationally acclaimed fado singers. Following her breakthrough with the album "Fado em Mim", she became one of the leading voices of contemporary fado. With her powerful voice and distinctive stage presence, she performs in concert halls around the world. She has received numerous awards and tours internationally, including regular appearances in Germany.
