Max Herre (born 1973 in Stuttgart) and Joy Denalane (born 1973 in Berlin) are a married German musician couple. Max Herre first gained fame as the frontman of the hip-hop group Freundeskreis and has since released solo albums blending rap and neo-soul. Joy Denalane, of South African-German heritage, is regarded as one of Germany's leading soul voices and was the first German artist to sign with the legendary Motown label. The two have collaborated musically for years and perform together, including as the joint project Max & Joy.
