Mero — born Enes Meral on 28 July 2000 in Rüsselsheim am Main — is a German rapper of Turkish descent. He grew up in the Dicker Busch district of Rüsselsheim, a place he references throughout his lyrics, and first drew attention with rap videos posted to Instagram; his style is built on orientally tinged hooks and doubletime delivery. He signed to Xatar's Groove Attack TraX label in May 2018, and his debut single Baller los, released that November, entered the German singles chart at number one — the first debut single by a rapper ever to do so. Further chart-topping singles such as Hobby Hobby and Wolke 10 followed, along with the 2019 album Ya Hero Ya Mero, which also went to number one. Olabilir, a partly Turkish-language single from the album Unikat, gave him his first success in Turkey as well.
