About
"Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells Live in Concert" is a touring production that brings Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" to the stage; Oldfield himself does not perform — he is the composer of the music. It is led and arranged by Grammy-nominated pianist and musical director Robin A. Smith, who has worked with Oldfield for more than three decades, including the premiere of "Tubular Bells II" at Edinburgh Castle and the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. In the current show, "The Best of Tubular Bells I, II & III", a large live band plays the first "Tubular Bells" in full, alongside extended sections of "Tubular Bells II" and "III" and the hit "Moonlight Shadow". The production grew out of the album's 50th-anniversary concerts, has toured the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and is presented by the promoter Senbla.
