Mittel Alta are a German duo who rap in medieval costume: Tommy performs as Sir Gernhardt Reinlunzen, Rudi as Sir Schwanzelot. The two met through the podcast "Ohne Sinn und Aber" and started the project in 2023 on a simple premise — medieval metal already existed, medieval rap did not. Raw beats meet equally raw, deliberately crude German lyrics and the occasional melodic scream, landing somewhere between a medieval fairground and a rap battle. The repertoire includes "Ficket Euch", "Leberzirrhosen", "Grasteufel" and "Tresenlegenden", along with the albums Bastard Barden and Bergfriedigung (both 2023) and Musik für den Pöbel (2024). They tour their live show under the name Pöbelfest.
