Mother's Finest is an American funk rock band formed in 1970 and led by the married vocal duo of Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy and Glenn "Doc" Murdock. In the 1970s the group stood out for its interracial line-up and high-energy live shows. It is regarded as an early influence on funk-rock acts such as Living Colour and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and as one of the originators of funk metal.
