Oliver Steller, born in Bonn in 1967, is a German reciter, musician and photographer who combines literature with music. He studied guitar, composition and voice at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and then worked for several years as a freelance musician in the United States. After returning to Germany he began reciting in 1994 under the guidance of Lutz Görner and has since created many programmes built on German poetry. His children's programmes won the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2000 and again in 2015. Since 2005 Dietmar Fuhr on double bass and Bernd Winterschladen on saxophone have accompanied him on his German tours, including the Rilke programme "Zwischen den Sternen".
