About
Paul Kalkbrenner (born 1977 in Leipzig) is a German DJ, producer and live performer who grew up in Berlin and became a defining figure of the city's techno and house scene from the late 1990s onward. He reached a wide audience through the film "Berlin Calling" (2008), in which he played the lead role and composed the soundtrack, including the international hit "Sky and Sand". He is known for his energetic live shows, where he reworks his own tracks in real time rather than playing a conventional DJ set. He is the older brother of musician Fritz Kalkbrenner and performs at major festivals and concert venues across Europe.
