Perturbator is the project of James Kent, a French electronic musician from Paris regarded as a leading figure in the synthwave and darksynth scene. Drawing on 1980s film, cyberpunk and video-game aesthetics, he crafts dark, retro-futuristic instrumental music. Kent previously played guitar in black metal bands before turning to electronic production around 2012. His releases have made him one of the most recognizable names in modern synthwave.
