René Steinberg (born 10 April 1973 in Mülheim an der Ruhr) is a German cabaret artist and author. After studying German philology in Essen, he began his career as a radio reporter and newsreader before landing his first own comedy series, Heimatarchiv, on Antenne Ruhr in 1998. Since the early 2000s he has been a familiar radio comedian at WDR, gaining wide recognition with formats such as Die von der Leyens. From 2006 onward, live stage programmes became a central part of his work, and his solo show Wer lacht, zeigt Zähne (2012) earned him several cabaret awards. He performs regularly across North Rhine-Westphalia and the wider German-speaking world.
