About
The Ruhrtriennale is an international festival of the arts held every year from mid-August to mid-October in the Ruhr region of North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 2002. Its programme brings together music theatre, drama, dance, concerts, visual art and literature, curated in three-year directorship cycles each with its own theme. Performances take place in repurposed industrial-heritage venues such as the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum, the Zollverein colliery in Essen and the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord.
