Sir Waldo Weathers is an American saxophonist and entertainer, born March 1, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is best known as a saxophonist in James Brown's band, touring and recording with the funk legend from 1992 into the 2000s. Known on stage as "Da Pope of Funk", he now lives in Germany, where he continues to perform with his own bands and as a solo artist.
