Sofia and the Antoinettes is the recording name of a British singer-songwriter, born in Chesterfield in September 2002 and now based in East London. She was educated at Stowe School before studying at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her songs are introspective and distinctly cinematic — she has summed the sound up as “existentialism in high heels” — with Leonard Cohen and Lana Del Rey among her touchstones. Her debut EP, Women Who Love Too Much, takes its title from Robin Norwood's book and circles themes of love, loss and identity. The world she builds has been likened to a meeting of Sofia Coppola and David Lynch.
