Soulfly is a Brazilian-American heavy metal band formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. The band is led by Max Cavalera, the former frontman of Sepultura, who started Soulfly after leaving the Brazilian group in 1996. The band is known for blending metal with Brazilian and world-music influences. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1998, and they have since released thirteen studio albums, the most recent being "Chama" in October 2025.
