About
Taroug is the solo project of German-Tunisian producer, drummer and composer Tarek Zarroug, who is based in Düsseldorf. Raised in Germany with family roots in southern Tunisia, his music navigates the tension between physical rhythm and sculpted electronic texture. Pulsating organic drums dissolve into analogue synthesizers, field recordings and restrained, hypnotic vocals. Personal material shapes the tracks, such as vocal samples of family members or an Arabic poem spoken by his father. He releases his music via Bandcamp among other channels, and in 2026 he appears at the Düsseldorf festival ALTSTADT LIVE.
