About

The Amity Affliction is an Australian post-hardcore band formed in 2003 in Gympie, Queensland. Fronted by vocalist Joel Birch alongside guitarist Dan Brown and Jonathan Reeves, the band combines heavy metalcore riffing with a melodic mix of singing and screaming. They are known for deeply personal lyrics that address themes such as depression, anxiety and mental health. The Amity Affliction has released nine studio albums, most recently House of Cards in 2026, and ranks among the most prominent acts in Australia's heavy-music scene.
