About

The Dead South is a Canadian folk and bluegrass ensemble formed in 2012 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The band is known for its distinctive acoustic sound built around banjo, cello, mandolin and guitar, and for its signature all-black attire and hats on stage. Their song "In Hell I'll Be in Good Company" became a viral international hit and drove much of their global recognition. Across albums such as "Good Company", "Illusion & Doubt" and "Sugar & Joy", the group has built a devoted following and tours widely, including frequent shows across Europe and Germany.
