Thomas Philipzen, born in 1969 in Bad Driburg in East Westphalia, is a multiple award-winning German cabaret artist who has toured the German-speaking world since 1988 with eight solo programs. From 2005 to 2025 he teamed up with the duo Funke & Rüther as the ensemble STORNO to present the annual satirical year-in-review "Die Abrechnung" – with around 2,000 performances and over a million spectators, one of Germany's most successful cabaret ensembles. He also works as a host for international variety shows and appeared on WDR television, including the Servicezeit program with his own travel column "Philipzens Rauszeit". In 2010 he received the "Silberner Columbus" television award; his current solo show is "Hirn in Teilzeit". Philipzen lives with his family in Münster.
