T. V. Smith, born Timothy Smith in 1956, is an English singer-songwriter who rose to prominence as the frontman of the punk band The Adverts in the late 1970s. He took the initials 'T. V.', short for television, as his stage name. After The Adverts he went on to lead other bands and to pursue a long solo career. He has kept writing and performing in the punk and singer-songwriter traditions ever since.
