Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969, widely regarded as pioneers of hard rock, heavy metal and progressive rock. Their sound is marked by prominent organ arrangements and layered vocal harmonies. The band enjoyed particular success in Germany during the 1970s, notably with the single "Lady in Black." Guitarist Mick Box is the only remaining founding member after numerous line-up changes. Across their long career they have released a large catalogue of studio and live albums.
