Walter Trout (born 1951 in Ocean City, New Jersey) is an American blues-rock guitarist and singer. During the 1970s and 1980s he played with artists such as John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Canned Heat before launching a solo career in the late 1980s. He is known for his fiery, emotionally charged guitar playing and an extensive catalogue of studio albums. In 2014 he survived a life-saving liver transplant, an experience he documented on the album "Battle Scars" (2015). He continues to tour regularly across Europe and Germany.
