The WDR Funkhausorchester is a radio orchestra of the West German Broadcasting corporation (WDR), founded in 1947 in Cologne, Germany. It is known for a deliberately broad repertoire that spans film music, musicals, operetta and opera, light and popular music, as well as lesser-known classical works. The ensemble performs regularly at the Kölner Philharmonie and the Funkhaus at Wallrafplatz. Frank Strobel has served as its principal conductor since autumn 2021, succeeding conductors such as Wayne Marshall.
